This piece remained unfinished for years until Janis’ mother had the background painted. Janis painted a piece of plywood showing Joseph, Mary, and Jesus as a lawn ornament at Christmastime. In the religious vein she next tackled Jesus on the cross.

Just wanted to say how much I love the music of Janis Joplin’s. I have been a fan since I was in my early teens and I am now 53 and still listen to her on a regular basis. I definetely will purchase one of her artworks one day when I can save up the money. She was a true original!
