Grace Slick &
Janis Joplin are exclusively published and represented by Area
Arts.
About Area Arts
The concept of Area Arts is to exhibit, promote and publish artwork done by people that have already become famous for their singing or acting talents. Many of these people have a true gift for being able to communicate through their music. This is all too evident when we see that the music of the 1960s is still extremely popular throughout the world.
By representing, publishing and touring the artwork Area Arts has become a leader in successfully promoting musician/artists.
The ability of these people to communicate through their visual
art is similar to the communication in their music. This is pop
art at its finest.
In addition to exclusively representing Grace Slick, we also handle the artwork of John Lennon, Miles Davis and R. Crumb. We showcase photography by several rock photographers along with song manuscripts form some of the most famous songs in rock history, including Lucy
in the Sky with Diamonds, Revolution and White
Rabbit, and many others.
As the 60's generation ages, so do the musical icons. However, by choosing to cross the bridge into the world of the visual arts, many of these extremely creative people are finding a new medium and outlet for their talent.
As Grace Slick said in a recent interview,
"It's all about communication. It's pop art,
enjoy it!"
Enjoy the visual concert.
