This is one of the only known self portraits that were ever done by Jimi. The sketch was originally done in the late 60’s during his skyrocketing success, while he was becoming a true superstar.
The portrait shows the thoughtfulness and intensity that were a big part of Jimi’s personality. There was nothing happenstance about this man. He had a perpose to his life and he know it.
