“How do I feel about our biggest hits? How do I interpret them as I reflect upon the last 50 years of my professional life? How would I translate them…visually?”

“I spend most of my free time creating visual art now, so I decided to create a body of work in honor of my other body of work, just this once.”

The Art of Bernie Taupin exhibit

(April 2019; Yountville, Calif.)—Napa Valley-based Cliff Lede Vineyards is honored to host the Northern California premiere of artwork by Bernie Taupin, life long visual artist and world-renowned songwriter.

Reflections: The Art of Bernie Taupin” features a collection of original works and hand-signed limited editions of only 50 prints created as a tribute to his partnership of 50 years with Elton John. The subject matter is inspired by hit songs the two created together. The exhibit debuts in Napa as Elton John performs his final world tour, “Farewell Yellow Brick Road.” And the buzz worthy biographical film on the life of Elton John “Rocketman,” is scheduled to be released in May.

The exhibit is open now through the end of June 2019. All works are available for purchase.

“Fans share often that my lyrics and Elton’s melodies have shaped and changed their lives in dramatic, everlasting ways. How can I possibly express my gratitude to the millions of fans who have impacted my life? These especially crafted works of art are my best effort, and I am so pleased to share this very personal art with you.”

Rolling Stone Magazine Interview with Grace Slick!

The “Three Festivals” were a trio of rock festivals that showcased the counter-culture movement and brought it to the mainstream: The Monterey Pop Festival, Woodstock, and Altamont Festival.  Jefferson Airplane has the distinction of being the only band to play at all three of the shows.

These three festival shows are iconic for many reasons. The Monterey Pop Festival and Woodstock opened the doors for the hippie movement and showed the rest of the country and the world that they could not continue to ignore the youth. Altamont, on the other hand, has been co-opted by authorities as being indicative of the chaos that comes with change.

Rolling Stone interviewed Grace about what it was like to be at the center of so many cultural events—especially the Altamont festival, which used the Hell’s Angels as a security staff (with predictable results).  You can read more all about it in the June issue, which hit the shelves mid-May.
