CNN partnered with Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman to produce this miniseries, which premieres May 29th. It will explore everything from the decade that shaped America, from the space race, politics, and war to music, art, and counter-culture. Viewers will see many iconic figures from the time interviewed for their first-hand perspective.
Unsurprisingly, Grace Slick was a go-to for the producers. The rock goddess turned visual artist has never shied away from speaking her mind, and who better to give us some insight into the counter-culture movement than the lady who teamed up with Abbie Hoffman in an attempt to dose President Nixon’s tea with LSD?
What other parts of 1960’s do you feel deserve a voice in this mini-series? Is there anything shouldn’t be mentioned? And more importantly, why are the ‘60s still so captivating to us, even more than fifty years later?
